When I was a kid, my teacher told me there would always be a need for plumbers, but not always for artists. For better or worse, I didn't listen. I was going to be a storyteller.

During my college career, I worked on film crews, wrote thousands of words in creative writing, and coded video games that would probably make the Internet mad. I learned history with the same passion as the Adobe Suite. And now, as a freelance writer and editor, I'm still reaching for the strange, vulnerable narratives at the core of everything.

 

There's always going to be a need for plumbers. I am not one. But I could tell their stories.
